About us
We are a student-led organization looking to educate youth about the multifaceted world of STEM and the myriad of career opportunities it presents. We do this through posting a series of educational and insightful STEM related posts on Instagram, and developing interactive STEM kits packed with engaging activities.

Natalie Yam
Co-Founder / President
Hi! My name is Natalie and I am a junior studying in Hong Kong. A little bit about me, I love to stay productive. I do this through practicing football and learning new things in my free time! I also love reading novels, and whenever I pick up a novel, I have to finish it and can never put it down. In school, my favourite subjects are Biology and Chemistry. Beyond my academic interests, I'm deeply passionate about addressing education inequality, particularly in STEM fields. I believe every child deserves access to quality STEM education, regardless of their background. This passion drives me to explore ways to make science and technology more accessible and engaging for young children, helping to spark their curiosity and build a strong foundation for their future.

Faith Trinh
Co-Founder / Vice-President
Hi there! My name is Faith, and I am currently a sophomore studying in Hong Kong. Going into secondary school, I discovered my passion for STEM, and as I continue to explore these subjects, my enthusiasm only grows. Alongside my love for STEM, I am passionate about sports, particularly basketball and volleyball, and I have a keen interest in sports nutrition. I enjoy learning how proper nutrition can enhance athletic performance and overall well-being. I am eager to share my knowledge and inspire younger students, as I once stood in their shoes, filled with curiosity and the desire to learn. Through mentorship and hands-on experiences, I hope to ignite their interest in STEM and sports, empowering them to pursue their dreams.

Nathan Yam
Director of Marketing
Hello! My name is Nathan and I am a high school freshman studying in Hong Kong. I have had a strong interest in STEM since a very young age. I am also an athlete who has participated in a few different sports competitively, and I am also into business and finance. Science and math reveals the wonders of our universe, and technology and engineering can change the world in many ways. I hope that through social media, we can engage and educate the youth, allowing them to find the same fascination as I did when I was younger. As mentioned, technology can change the world. And I aim to utilize the power of technology to spread STEM insights and knowledge to people all over the world, helping build a foundation and speak curiosity among the youth, setting them up for meaningful change in the world.

Cyrus Li
Director of Business Development
Hello! My name is Cyrus and I am a junior studying in Hong Kong. I was born and raised in Hong Kong and have two younger brothers. In my free time, I love playing basketball, playing the piano, and spending time with my friends and family. I also enjoy going on long walks, runs, or bike rides to clear my mind. I’m deeply passionate about helping and serving underprivileged children in Hong Kong; bringing a smile to their faces is such a joy. I believe that STEM is a great way to build a solid foundation for a child’s future as it encourages critical thinking, inspires creativity, and fosters communication skills. Through NextGen STEM, I hope to bring joy to many children and encourage them to dream big.
Why we Matter
2.7x
STEM exposure
Research of 1,060 students shows early STEM exposure makes students 2.7x more likely to pursue STEM careers. Those with higher STEM career knowledge showed greater interest in STEM majors and jobs. Early exposure through hands-on activities proved particularly effective in building lasting interest.
274,900
Education Inequality
In Hong Kong, 274,900 children live in poverty, severely limiting their access to educational resources such as technology, quality learning materials, and extracurricular STEM programs. This disparity perpetuates educational inequality and hinders their academic potential.
What We Do
Educate Others through Social Media
We are able to educate youth online through creating posts on Instagram, answering frequently asked questions and other creative topics. We hope to spark intrigue and inspire those who see them.
Distribute Kits to Local Organizations
We’ve carefully curated STEM kits including but not limited to creating Bouncy Slime and Balloon Powered Cars. After assembling these kits, we send them our to local organizations to introduce STEM ideas to students there.
Host Workshops with our STEM Kits
We also partner with these local organizations to host workshops using these STEM kits, providing a more hands-on experience for the youth there. Through these workshops, we aim to pass on our knowledge and research by guiding students during the experiments and teaching them along the way.
